The Search for the Perfect Webhost
While searching for a host for Ericulous.com, I read up the reviews in webhostingtalk.com, google-ing here and there, hoping to find a reliable and value for price webhosting company. Kind of overwhelming cos everytime I thought I found The One, some bad reviews would turn up. Then I realized that no one host will have perfect reviews. Finally I settled down on 2 potential candidates.

hostgator

  • unlimited domain addon
  • 100gb storage
  • 1000gb bandwidth
  • USD120/yr

bluehost

  • unlimited domain addon
  • 300gb storage
  • 3000gb bandwidth
  • USD84/yr

Value-wise, bluehost appear to be the clear choice. Then I chanced upon the blog of Bluehost’s CEO. After reading thru I’m convinced of the reliability cos seldom do you see such honesty from a webhosting CEO.

The Impression
And so I sign up. I must say the first impression is fabulous! Upon payment thru Paypal, the account is activated immediately. And I mean instant, no checking email for account password, details etc. You are directed to cPanel immediately after Paypal payment.

Then knowing that my new domain name will probably take up to 24-48 hrs to resolve, I play around using direct IP. 1 hour later, out of boredom I key in ericulous.com. Viola! My domain is up! i dun know if it’s the efficiency of Bluehost or just pure luck but hey I’m a happy guy. It’s been a year and I have hosted 4 blogs with Bluehost. Hardly encounter any glitches or downtime. Hence, for value and reliability, I highly recommend Bluehost.
