     But since the theme will detect the first image in the content, you can use a regular auto rss plugin.

   Thanks for your great template. I am trying to remove the right sidebar, so I can get some real estate on the web page. I erased everything from sidebar-right.php and tried to remove

   I seem to have got rid of the left sidebar. Now my issue is how do I increase the middle column to extend all the way to the left. Please see http://netcatholics.com/?p=121

       Your code looks correct. When you say nothing happened, you mean you didn’t notice a difference? Even if you set in to 500? Also try clearing your browser cache.

      Go to Appearance > Menus, in the Custom Links box, enter # for URL and Categories for Label.

      Click Add to Menu.

      Then add your categories from the Categories box.

      Drag them abit to the right such that they are indented to the Categories menu you created earlier.

    Speeding up loading page by
    1. “preload” the predefine image width, height. This enable the user to see the image loading in progress instead of waiting for all the image downloaded and display the page

    2. For “cache” page, reusing the calculate cache page that previously calculated. Instead of recalculated the page again.

    Do you think it is a good idea? if it is which part of the code need to be modified? or do you plan to have it in the next version?

      It doesn’t work well with twitter bootstrap’s responsive design. No plans to implement them in future versions. Apply the modifications only if you are comfortable with css/jquery and ready to fix things here and there on your own.

    Hi Genkisan,
    First off, thank you so much for creating such an AWESOME theme! I absolutely love it! I know you’re probably extremely busy and may or may not respond to this question, but i noticed a minor bug in the theme and for the life of me I cannot figure out what is causing it. Here’s how to get to it: If you open up the demo in a web browser (and shrink the window down horizontally) or view it on a mobile device and then click the button on the upper right-hand corner to open up the main menu and search bar…you’ll notice that when you hover or click on the “Categories” tab, the drop-down menu will not open up all the way and display the rest of the categories contained within it (it cuts off on “Food”). I hope I’m making some sense here. Then if you simply collapse the menu back up and re-click the button and hover/click over the “Categories” tab once again, it works completely fine. I tried this on multiple browsers and it does it every time, but only the first time you click on it. I tried tweaking some values in the bootstrap.css file to no avail so I was hoping you could at least point me in the right direction so i can try fixing it. Thanks so much for your time and contribution to the WordPress community. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi,
    Me again, sorry! Found another minor bug and was hoping you could help me figure this one out if you don’t mind. In mobile (or resized browser version), when you do a search for a non-existent item…say we type in the word “tuna” into the search field of your demo and click search, when you get the “No Items Found” result box…you’ll notice the footer disappears and shifts up behind the box. Any idea on what could be causing this? Again, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

      In single post, WordPress doesn’t know how to fetch the next scrolling page.
      It will keep reloading the same thumbnails.

    Hello Genkisan,

    I have your free theme and it’s really great! I have only one small problem.
    When I open a thumb photo from the index page it shows me the large photo, not a thumb photo.

    Example from your demo version:
    In your demo version, when you open a thumb photo from the index (http://ericulous.com/ipin/) it looks like this:
    http://ericulous.com/ipin/files/2012/07/rilakkumastickymemo-298×300.jpg
    The natural scaled photo from the example is http://ericulous.com/ipin/files/2012/07/rilakkumastickymemo.jpg

    In my website when I open a thumb photo from the index it shows the full sized photo.

    Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but in Google Chrome this makes my index move very slow when scrolling down, even with supercache and lazy load.

    Can you tell me what to do for the theme to show thumb photos in the index listing?

      You are probably using “the first <img> tag in post content” for the thumbnails. To use downsized thumbnails, you have to set the Featured Image for each post.

      No solution for removing scrollbar on mobile website.
      Wordpress uses Gravtar as their avatar system so you need to change your avatar at http://gravatar.com/

      1. For free version, go to Settings > Discussion > untick ‘Show Avatars’. Does not work for pro version.
      2. In style.css, add font-size to ‘#masonry .thumbtitle’ class. For pro, modify font-size in ‘#masonry .post-title’ class.

    Hi,

    I’m considering buying this theme, and I just have a question – can I make a child theme based on this theme? The purchase requires you enter a domain, and I don’t know if there is any restriction that prevents child themes based on this?

    Also, you post a lot of code modifications here in the comments – which is great that you’re supportive, but I was wondering if it wouldn’t be more future-proof if you provide hooks that can be overridden by a child theme? I keep all themes updated, and would not want to make changes that will be overwritten by updates…

    I’ve tried iPin, and would love to get your response on the above, to consider buying the Pro version.

      No issue as the child theme will also run on the same domain?

      Even with hooks you can’t cover all areas. Also if you use a child theme, the child theme files would not be overwritten by updates to the main theme.

        1) Is there anyway to over ride the custom menu system, so that the theme just posts the category as how the parent directory is listed.

        2) Is there a way to scroll through the categories if you have, for example, more then 10 categories. Like on my site, livlaughlov.com, I have many categories.. which get cut off from the page when you open it. Is there way to have a down arrow key after 10 categories that will autoscroll?

        3) Is there a way for the search feature to also search categories. Right now it returns back nothing found when I search for a category name.

    I came across your ipin theme – perfect fit for a new project I’m working on. I know this is probably staring me in the face, but I can’t figure out how to change the font color for the Footer and 2 sidebars of a post page. Right now it’s at that gray color; I’d like to change them all to white so they will show up on my dark purple background. I created a child theme and I’ve tried a couple of things, after looking at style.css – but no luck. If you look at the Schools post page, I need the 2 headings: Categories & Tweets changed, as well as all of the categories & tweets plus footer. Thanks to anyone that can help me with this

      this is sth you can change in the style.css – appearence/editor – later find the style.css file and dig into the code. the section u are intrested in should be branded with “sidebar”.

        I’ve created a child theme. When I make the changes in there, nothing happens. When I alter the original style.css sheet, it does work. Thank you for directing me to the sidebar section. Maybe I have a different problem, that being that my child style.css sheet doesn’t appear to be working. Ugh!

          The 4 files are not accessible to the public. E.g when you open this file (http://www.steve-z.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/ipin/font/fontawesome-webfont.ttf ) in browser, it should prompt you to download. In your case, it goes to a 404 error page. Try changing their permission to 755/777. Or check with your host why the files are not accessible.

    Got a question when making changes on the theme. I add a xfbml facebook share button for every post in the loop/index page. It works fine for the 30 posts. When additional post are loaded by the infinite loop, the facebook button cannot be loaded. Any idea? I googled a bit and found the following solution,

        try{
            FB.XFBML.parse(); 
        }catch(ex){}
    });

    I don’t know where I should put it. Would you show me where I should put these codes? I do not have much knowledge on jquery.

    I dont want to buy the full version as this version goes along great with the concept of my page. But I can pay if you would be able to insert just this bookmark engine

    I use WP favorite posts which later I display on the other page, but it look realy not nice.
    I want ppl, using the button “zapamietaj” on each post on front page, to be able to create their own page with their favorite posts – sth as if they entered their own category page… meaning this bookmark engine.

    the parent menu item “Categories” is not working as link.

      Mine is on purpose since I didn’t want the click on Categories to go anywhere. In your case, go to WP-Admin > Appearance > Menus and use your parent category as parent menu item.
