Theme Update: OneNews 3.0

OneNews 3.0 receives a major revamp, in design and functionality. And now requires at least WordPress version 3.0 to work. I have tested it on WordPress 3.1 RC2 so I do not expect any issues when WP3.1 is released.

Dropdown Custom Menu
New tooltip with thumbnail, social media, new indicator, relative date
Support for Vimeo videos
Sideblog revamp
Localization ready

Hi – two questions -
Will the new theme keep all the older widget details?
And – I need to move my blog to a new database. An phpMyAdmin backup doesn’t seem to work, it loses the widgets. The Plugin Widget Profiles doesn’t export, only keeps the layout if you wish to tinker and revert to a saved one. How do I save the whole thing to load to a new database?

  You are currently using the latest v3.0 theme so there’s no need to update.

    Thanks, I’ll look at the first link.
    This theme seems to save things a bit differently than others, even the posts didn’t get restored with phpMyAdmin.
    Does it use a completely different structure?

    Nope. This theme uses the standard structure as any wordpress theme. So the posts should not be affected though I have read that widgets do get lost in other themes.

      Ok. Getting closer.
      I started from scratch. The first page working fine, a group of RSS feeding widgets, the menubar links to Page 2, About, Blog, all broke, 404 error.
      I’m not happy to keep messing with the live site, so will tinker with MAMP and install locally. The hack attacks on this site appear to have stopped for now, so urgency has dropped.
      I’m sure I’m missing something obvious here.
