WP Theme: Woogle The Google Search Engine Clone

Free Wordpress Themes .Blogging .Clone

No need to rub your eyes.. it’s a Google Search Engine(GSE).. packaged in a WordPress theme! Proudly claim that your site has been acquired and integrated into GSE. The theme was created out of fun for the coming April Fool’s Day but I’m sure you can find other uses for it.

It’s a pity that the sidebar ads used on the geniune GSE is not available in Adsense. The closest format is the 160×600 skyscraper. I also used “Woogle” as logo instead of “Google” for trademark concerns. Overall, I won’t claim 100% resemblance.. 80% perhaps

How do I change the header logo?
Replace the logo.png with your own image. You can also check out the Google Logo Maker.

How do I change the Adsense ID for the sidebar ads?
Open sidebar.php and in line 7, replace the pub-xxxxxxxx with your own publisher ID.

   i have a site probasketballfansite.com that is using this theme as a test … the pages do not use all availiable space … woogle looks like a 2 column theme but the pages display as a 3 column theme with main column left justified and the first side bar (middle of page) is just white spce … look at probasketballfansite.com/procipher or probasketballfansite.com/scores to see what I mean …

   any suggestions on how to get the main page information to display across the page to single right hand side bar?

     Woogle is a 2 column theme. The white space is just what google search engine have. If you want to utilise the space, open style.css and find

     .content {
     max-width: 42em !important;
     width: 55%;
     }

     and replace with

     .content {
     width: 70%;
     }

          What I meant was that it’s not a theme-related issue. So you will have to figure out which plugins are causing the problem by deactivating them.

    heaving some problems with the header too, i have no plugins installed just a fresh copy of the latest wordpress 2.7.1

    Also made sure there are no spaces at the end in both the functions.php file and the headers.

    so im fuzzed, any help would be appreciated

      Thanks for the heads up. It was saved in some weird Unicode BOM Header format which seems to affect some servers.

    I am trying this theme for my latest site.When I upload the theme files on cpanel and extract them it does not happen the right way.I do not find the theme uploaded correctly.Would you help me out?Are there any plugins required as well?

      I don’t see the theme files at http://sleepapneadisorder.info/wp-content/themes/. Make sure you uploaded the files at /wp-content/themes/ directory.

        Go to the site if you will and try to leave a comment. youll get the error. no plugins are currently activated. i also have 7 other sites on the same server running wordpress so i dont think its the server or config.

      I didn’t expect so many pages when I came up with this theme. I guess you can do away with the numbering. Open index.php and replace
      $count < $max_page
      with
      $count < 10

      and replace
      echo $count-1
      with
      echo '.'

    I have been trying to install a twitter feed which works fine in the sidebar (Widget) on Internet Explorer but takes over the entire page in firefox. Is there a solution please? I have tried quite a few different widgets and get the same with all. Thanks

    Thanks for your template. It’s really awesome.
    I have changed the template and improve the codes and some pages. I have created for instance a first search page like the one on Google. If you want to look at the changes here is my website: http://www.koowit.com and http://www.kouwit.com for the french version.
    Google is also proposing a Google Custom Search. I have checked both and I prefer Woogle + WordPress.

    Really cool theme.

    1.Is there a way to display categories at the bottom of the page, just like google suggested keywords?, like

    Searches related to acne
    acne treatment types of acne acne causes acne jeans
    acne scars baby acne cystic acne acne free

    2.Is there a way to add couple of sponsored listings (affiliate programs) at the very top with light yellow background, to make it look like google ads?

    Can you suggest a theme modifier/software?
