Do you know any plugin that let you manage the widgets more efficiently? The widget manager in 2.8.x tries to load everything and it no longer practical if you have more than 100 or so widgets.

So far, the feedback I’ve received have been about load time. I am using the build in cache and super-cache, but it doesn’t seem to help. Is there anything I can do to improve speed?

Or is there a way to put in a script that say “Please wait…” with some sort of animated clock?

I’ve tried working along that line but alas.. it’s the way Wordpress assign dynamic ids for each widget that complicates matter.

To hide subpages, open widgets.php , look for 3 instances of

ORDER BY ' . $wpdb->prefix . 'posts.post_title ASC

and replace with

AND ' . $wpdb->prefix . 'posts.post_parent = 0
ORDER BY ' . $wpdb->prefix . 'posts.post_title ASC

Or at least a function to all duplicate widgets to a different page.

Also, I just noticed that sub-pages show up on the Alphabet list. Is there a way for sub-pages not to show (or show as sub) so that it’s easier to create hierarchical structure?

Unfortunately I’ve yet to figure this out. Wordpress 2.8 will see a revamp of the widgets admin area. Let’s see how it goes.

Setting up the page could get cumbersome for large pages. Do you have plan to simplify the entry process?

Also, it would be great if there’s a way to enter everything in a list that’s easier to sort and move around.

In any case, I do think this is a terrific theme and I am glad that you took the time to develop it. Thank you.
