Hoping to glean some insights on how to earn more with Nuffnang, I email Ming, one of the founder of Nuffnang, some questions regarding Nuffnang ads. True to their open door policy, Ming quench my curiosity
Can we add ads to non-blog websites e.g forums?
Ming: Technically speaking you can. However, at this point of time we are specifically focused on blogs.
My thoughts: I guess blogs are a more effective medium when it comes to spreading the message. I notice that whenever bloggers (myself included) receive an ad, they get excited and blog about the incoming advertisement. Creating even more exposure for the advertisers. They are getting their money worth by having a free review, on top of the ads banner. Ordering a review through ReviewMe probably cost USD40-100 each. Now before you think arghh.. I shouldn’t give them a free review worth USD40, think long term. Give the advertisers more love and you shall receive more in return
What’s the highest band achievable?
Ming: The highest band achievable is 100.
My thoughts: All bloggers are grouped into bands according to our average daily unique visitors. The higher your Blogger band (i.e. more unique visitors), the higher your earnings. So before you wanna aim for the top, you gotta know where the top is right? I’m pretty far away though, jiayou..
Which ad unit (skyscraper, leaderboard, large rectangle) offers the highest payout? Or all are equal?
Ming: Currently all are equal. However, we will differentiate in the long run. What we are striving to do in the short and medium run is get blogs acknowledged as a credible medium of advertisement.
My thoughts: So no worries here, just find one that fit snugly into your blog. You can also place multiple ads to increase chance of having more advertisers, see Odds of Getting Multiple Nuffnang Ads
Where should the ads be placed for optimal exposure?
Ideally it should be above the fold (the section of a Web page that is visible without scrolling). In fact Nuffnang’s program policy specifies “At least one of your Ad units must begin less than 400 pixels from the top of the web page”. In their recent blog update, they also indicate “Kindly note that the placement of your ad unit is crucial. A number of bloggers have had their blogs turned down, as it is too far down the sidebar”. Well from the standpoint of advertisers, they would love to have their ads getting maximum exposure, so i say give it to them
I got an ad this week! Can I boost earnings by asking more friends/visitors to visit my blog?
According to Nuffnang’s faq, “What you earn depends on the number of Average Unique visitors you received in the week before your ad campaign is served.” So by the time you know you got an ad coming, it’s too late to boost the stats. So play hard on your blog every week, not only on the week ads are served. That should keep you on your toes!!

Forgive me for a little outdated. This is first time I heard about Nuffnang ads. Seem like another ad programs that can make more money from blogging, but unfortunately it is only for Singapore.
They just launched in Singapore about a month ago. So actually you’re pretty updated
