I've commented out the comments_template() line in both single.php and page.php which has fixed the problem, although now nobody is able to view or make comments. Since commenting the line out it seems that the issue lies in comments.php but with the if statements it gets a little confusing to troubleshoot. All sidebars are currently static so they don't change on a page-by-page basis and the interior page occasionally makes some of the links grey, and not cream. I had made some tweaks to them theme but I've also tried with a clean install of your theme with all cache etc. cleared and the issue still happens in both FF and IE.
