With so many sexy Wordpress themes out there, I wanted to test them out on my blog. However my main blog and OneNews page share the same theme, making it a hassle to switch. At the back of my mind, I knew the quick solution would be to install another wordpress blog for OnenNews. Disadvantages : 1) install and setup another blog from scratch, 2) have to maintain 2 blogs. Yet another hassle. So I search high and low for a hack/plugin for Wordpress to enable different themes for different pages, to no avail. I watch some anime along the way and soon procastination sets in. I was looking for excuses to avoid getting the job done. Then I came across David Seah’s blog on Procrastination and the Long Queue

I have been trained and conditioned in college to be forward-looking, anticipatory, and pre-emptive in my analysis. I know what can go wrong. My active imagination, combined with both broad and deep knowledge of what I know and what I do not know, allows me to see a dozen possible futures with great clarity. In certain circumstances, this ability is very useful. In others, it can be paralyzing. This paralysis, I theorize, contributes to my tendency to procrastinate. Because I live in the future, and not the now, nothing gets done. I look into the future not for guidance, but to see what I should be afraid of. That is not good.

It just hit me. Throwing aside my CBA list and inner fear, I bite the bullet and install a new Wordpress blog. And bang, after 3 hours, I have migrated OneNews over.

3 days of hunting for solution = no work done.
3 hours of “mindless” work = Job Done!

You probably won’t notice any difference. But now I can change my theme on a whim :)
