My Sony DSC H1 turn out to be rather bulky for my liking. Hardly bring it around for casual shots. So when the TZ1 came out I was so tempted and finally sucumbbed and kissed my H1 goodbye. Another option was the Kodak Easyshare V610. However the reviews tilted in favour of the TZ1.
Bought the smallest 10X zoom digicam with optical image stabilizer at Alan Photo for SGD600. Bundled with Kingston 512MB and the original DMW-CTH1 semi hard case.
A quick test of the powerful zoom.

This is 12.5x zoom as I set the resolution to 3 megapixels. Resolutions of 3MP is just nice enough for me and doesn’t gobble up my harddisk as fast. The zoom for 5MP should be 10x.
Now if only it can fit into my pocket like the Kodak V610. Perhaps TZ2? ![]()
